EQ workshop
A central element of freediving is the equalization technique. Without knowing and applying it correctly, you cannot dive safely. As depth increases, a more sophisticated method is needed to avoid barotraumatic injuries. In the Equalization (EQ) workshop with a small number of participants, we train you in the technique best suited for your level of expertise. Using special equipment with lung exercises, we will teach you the correct equalization technique, which you will later practice in the water. The aim of the workshop is to develop technique, so first of all the related exercises will form the theme of the session. Beginner and advanced level will go through and master the Frenzel technique. For those with more experience, we recommend the Mouthfill method. These workshops will highlight areas for improvement, but it takes a lot of practice to master the technique at a high level. For faster progress, we recommend you to sign up for the EQ workshop at certain intervals or apply for the coaching services of our instructors!

Instructor supervision includes:
Safety between 0-20m depth (1.5 - 2 hours duration)

Our instructors can also provide personalized training if you want to take freediving to a more serious level, either in the pool or in open water. Open water diving is a complex sport, not only physical preparation but also mental "fitness" is crucial to the development of individual performance. Developing the right training plan is a difficult task, but it is essential for optimal progression. Physical training is about the optimal combination of dry and pool/open water training. This includes strength, conditioning, endurance, hypercapnia, hypoxia, flexibility and technique development exercises. We deal separately with mental exercises and personal problem solving.
In all cases, cooperation starts with a baseline examination, where the following parameters are measured:
Flexibility, mobility
Physical fitness, endurance
Carbon dioxide and hypoxia tolerance
Technical knowledge
General consultation on individual needs
We will then put together a program that meets your goals.

Long-term coaching can be provided online, which includes continuous interaction. We keep a diary for each coaching session, where we collect the relevant information about the exercises. We consult online on a weekly basis. We can also provide a video analysis of your technique development if you take a video (water still with angles drawn in).
Personal coaching services are available on an occasional basis at our training camps. We recommend it for those who follow their own training plan but would like to get feedback on their current skills. Coaching is always provided in separate sessions with a maximum of 2 people per instructor to ensure maximum attention. The instructor will give you exercises, make a video, correct mistakes on the topic you have requested. A training camp with personal coaching provides an opportunity to assess your current performance and help you on your way reaching your goals. Due to time limitations of such an event the expectations are managed based on mutual agreement.
Our instructors keep up with the latest scientific findings and regularly carry out their own measurements, so you can be sure they'll always have the most up-to-date knowledge to help you plan your workout. For more information, feel free to contact your chosen instructor!

Application criteria for EQ Workshop, training camp and coaching:
Minimum beginner freediving qualification
medical certificate not older than 1 year
completed medical questionnaire
signed declaration of liability
declaration of acceptance of the ApneaHub’s policy
valid diving insurance for the duration of the event
min. 16 years of age (under 18 with parental consent)
