Apnea
The most important facts to know about Freediving, the physical challenge that is the best way to improve yourself while having fun.
Apnea, also known as freediving? By definition, it is an activity that takes place underwater with a single breath of air, but in reality it is much more than that! There are so many different answers to this question, instead of boring descriptions that can be found everywhere, we have gathered what Apnea means to us personally:
Extremity
The greatest duality of all: maximum performance with maximum peace of mind.
Self-knowledge
Gradually deepening inner awareness, where external stimuli disappear and you are eventually left alone with yourself.
Tranquillity
A vanishing point from everyday life into a whole different world.
Why do we recommend it?
Challenge
Because there is much more in you than you can imagine and your boundaries are much further than you think.
Self-development
Because you're stuck with yourself, you have to overcome yourself. So you can learn your true personality.
Fun
Because wherever and whenever you do it, it will be a breathtaking experience.
Let's admit, a freediver gliding to the bottom of the sea in a beautiful tropical environment, without any equipment, on a single breath is cool! Seeing such footage, it's probably not an exaggeration to say that everyone plays with the idea of trying it. However, soon afterwards, the excuses start to appear: I'm afraid of water, I can't stay down there that long anyway, I don't do any sports, I'm overweight, or I'm too old, etc...
Not being professional athletes, we often struggle with these excuses too. Similarly to the majority of average people, we all started this sport in our 30s. Yet today, we no longer find it difficult to swim 2x through a 50m pool with one breath or dive more than 10 stories deep.
The good news is that all you need to know for this sport can be learned. Experience in recent years has shown that even 1 hour of training is enough to hold your breath for 3 minutes. In the courses at different levels, we teach you the necessary techniques step by step, so you can reach depths of 12m as a beginner, 30m as an advanced and up to 40m at master level!
This is the place for you if…
as a child, you liked to be underwater or tried swimming underwater across the pool
you are interested in different breathing techniques and how the body works
you want to be more confident in water
you would like to improve your relaxation and concentration skills
you want to try something special
you prefer an active vacation
you already practice this sport and want to take it to the next level
you are looking for a coach to help you refine your technique and improve your performance
Safety first! That's why you must …
have basic swimming skills
be ‘as fit as a fiddle’
love being in and under water
