For whom?
Course description
The AIDA Monofin Freediver course guides divers through the use of a monofin in three levels. The beginner level focuses on the basics, correct body position and basic techniques, the advanced level focuses on more efficient, conscious movement and hydrodynamics, while the master level focuses on learning fine-tuned monofin techniques and strategies tailored to the CWT and DYN disciplines.
What will you learn?
In the beginner monofin course, you will learn the basics of monofin swimming, how to move efficiently and easily in the water. During the training, you will develop basic water skills (floating, balance, breathing while swimming), master the correct posture and streamlined position, as well as the technique of dolphin swimming. You will learn how the movement of the upper and lower body works together, the role of footwork and hip work, and you will become familiar with the basic
In the advanced monofin course, you can further develop your monofin swimming and refine your dolphin kick technique. There is a strong emphasis on efficient, energy-saving movement, refining the wave-like movement of the body, and conscious control of pace and rhythm. You will learn how to use the monofin during longer and more intense swims, improve your turns and wall-pull techniques, while focusing on stable technique throughout.
The Master Monofin course is for those who are no longer using the monofin as a technique, but as a tool. The focus of the training is on developing an individual style, fine movement control, and conscious use of the monofin at different speeds, loads, and goals. You will learn to recognize and correct your own movement patterns, optimize your performance, and maintain the quality of your movement during longer swims. The goal of the course is independent development, confident execution, and achieving a high level of safety.
